As life goes by, I find that it's too short to be stuck with a tasteless cake from the grocery store. Instead, I'll bake a tasty treat to enjoy and share with family and friends. When you've had a piece of my cake, you'll remember it and ask for it again!
Okay, so I must post these pictures, which are of one of the very first cakes I decorated before I even received training. It is a six layer rainbow cake. I decorated it for a bible study that was held just after Easter.
I love this cake! I know this post is almost 4 years old, but I just found the picture and love it!!!! How many boxes of cake did you use? Did you use any cardboard/dowels? I want to make a 4 layer cake tomorrow (ninja turtle colors) and don't know how many boxes of cake to use!!!!
It only took two cake mixes (back when they were the 18.5 oz sizes). I split the batter up into the six bowls to make the colors.
No, I did not use a cake board between the layers nor did I use any dowels. Only because I had to clue that I should do that back then. If I were to make this cake again, I'd put a cake board between the third and fourth layers of cake, and put supports in the bottom tier of cake to support the top tier of cake.
